When you ask a question in 2diff Business, the application assembles a summary of your financial data from your QuickBooks^® Online account. That summary, along with your question, is sent to the AI model you have selected. The AI reads your numbers and responds in plain language.

This approach is called Retrieval-Augmented Generation. The practical meaning for you: the AI answers from your figures rather than from general knowledge. It can still be wrong, so check what matters. It works from your profit and loss statement, your balance sheet, your cash flow, your ratios, and your trends. The answer is grounded in your specific business situation.

Users choose from a curated set of models across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, with new models added as they ship. Models can be switched mid-conversation. Data Privacy and Responsible Use

Financial data requires the highest level of protection. These principles apply to all AI use across our products and engagements.

Your data is never used to train AI models. The financial context you choose to send is used to answer that request; each provider's API terms state it is not used to train or improve their models, and we never use it to train our own.
We do not keep the conversation. We do not store the AI conversation on our servers after your session; for each request we keep a 90-day audit record holding only a hash of what was sent, and how long a provider keeps a request is set by its own API terms, which we do not control.
Each provider handles a request under its own API terms. We use OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google through their standard APIs. Their published API terms, linked from our Privacy Policy, state that API content is not used to train their models; we do not control those terms.
We do not send more data than necessary. Context packages are assembled to include only the data relevant to the query, not the full accounting history.
All communication is encrypted in transit. Data sent to AI providers uses TLS 1.2 or higher encryption.
